A Story A Day -One Anecdote

A poem a day.
A story a day.

Format: Story

Writing Prompt: From Jerome Stern, Making Shapely Fiction. Specimen = write a story telling one anecdote about a memorable character.

(excerpt from If These Walls Could Speak)

Pale blue like a time somewhere before sunrise, they almost drip with tears.

“Did you notice your sister’s sacrifice?”

“You won’t understand her sacrifice now, not at your young age, but you will later cry for her. Cry for her loss. Cry for her protection of you.”

She is your wall.

She was your wall.
